AMC platforms for broadband / LTE base stations – hardware board design and validation
We developed AMC boards based on MSC8156 and P2020, for a global Leader in embedded processing for auto and telecom applications. A reference design that showcases the capability of Freescale Silicon, but in a generic AMC form factor so that product companies can use this more as a COTS board.
Benefits delivered
- Flexible/modular design to accommodate combination of packet process engine and/or modem processors
- Provision to accommodate 3 DSP in AMC form factor
- Complete implementation of Blind Vias which had resulted in elongated debug cycle
- Thermal iterations to identify right heat sink for a fully loaded (P2020 and 2 DSP combo or 3 DSP) card
